Paarhammer Manufacturer of the Year – Small Business

Paarhammer is Victoria’s ‘Manufacturer of the Year – Small Business’ 2017. We are absolutely thrilled and very honoured! A long manufacturing history, staff training and education, innovation and latest technology together with several ‘firsts’ and sustainable features of the factory, as well as community involvement, were mentioned by the Victoria State Government in regard to our award.

The Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards, established in 2001, recognise individuals and companies who embrace new technologies and manufacturing techniques, are export (or import replacement) focused and excel in business innovation.

Established by Tony and Edith Paarhammer in 1990, a family owned and operated company, is the first Australian company to develop and patent bushfire-resistant windows and doors tested and approved to Australian Standards. Paarhammer is also setting the benchmark for energy efficiency in Australia from our purpose-built factory in Ballan featuring sustainable waste, light and water management systems, and using the latest in technology like Francesco the spray painting robot.

Our company places a strong focus on staff education and community, and since its foundation, 35 apprentices have been trained in-house in conjunction with Federation University Ballarat. Other staff have been supported in completing further certificates in manufacturing, and study trips overseas to learn how to make aluminium clad windows, now manufactured locally by Paarhammer.

'Growing Advanced Manufacturing' is the theme of the 2017 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards and "recognises outstanding achievements by local business and individuals which uphold a high standard of excellence in Victorian manufacturing" said the Hon Wade Noonan MP (Minister for Industry and Employment) "...We are working with industry to create jobs, support growth, and promote forward-thinking and innovation in manufacturing. We recognise a wide range of world-class businesses that continue to make Victoria both the heart and brain of Australian manufacturing."

We always believed that we could do something good in the window industry and recognition like this award in the Hall of Fame is wonderful. Paarhammer has received numerous awards over the years, and it was our great pleasure to receive this award on behalf of all our employees who strive to deliver exceptional service, and meticulously crafted windows and doors for energy efficiency and bushfire safety.
